Meet Dr. Kabir Nigam

PSYCHIATRIST

Born in Boston, Dr. Kabir Nigam grew up in California, where he completed his undergraduate education at UCLA. He went on to complete a Master's of Research in neuropsychopharmacology at Imperial College London. After this, he relocated to the East Coast for his medical training, where he completed his psychiatry training at Brigham and Women's Hospital/Harvard Medical School. During this time, he completed a fellowship in psychoanalysis from the Boston Psychoanalytic Institute and Society and in psychedelic-assisted therapy from the California Institute of Integral Studies. 

Dr. Nigam is currently an Instructor in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and an attending psychiatrist at McLean Hospital on their unit for trauma and dissociative disorders. He currently serves as a study therapist for clinical trials in the Boston area, studying the use of psychedelic-assisted therapy for various clinical applications. Utilizing a trauma-informed framework, Dr. Nigam provides ketamine-assisted psychotherapy in an approach that draws from aspects of psychodynamic psychotherapy, Eastern philosophy, and techniques rooted in somatic experiencing to explore and process aspects of life experience that contribute to mood disorders.
